Dr. Leonette Collins
Christian Counselor & Director of TGP Good Counsel
Dr. Leonette Collins, Founder and Senior Pastor of The Grow Place has a passion for mental health and holistic wellness. She has continued her education to receive a dual Master of Arts degree and Ph.D. in Clinical Christian Counseling from the Christian Bible Institute & Seminary. She also holds a certification in crisis intervention & suicide prevention. As shared in her first book, "The Altar and the Couch", Dr. Collins believes in bridging the gap between having faith in God's settled Word and the "couch" through mental health support and therapy.

With the support of many Lay Christian Counselors, The Grow Place has become a safe place for people to heal, work through their traumas, and grow in safe soil, rooted in Prayer and the Word. Every 3rd Saturday, we host TGP Good Counsel, where Dr. Collins and other skilled counselors come and share and impart on some challenging, but necessary mental health topics.
Our Support Services
Emotional Wellness
One of the most important areas of mental health is emotional wellness. Life can be stressful and we have to learn how to deal with those stresses and adapt to changing situations. We must learn how to manage our emotions and emotional triggers by using healthy coping mechanisms.
Addiction Support
Almost all of us suffer from some kind of addiction. We develop and get attached to unhealthy coping mechanisms. Whether substances or unhealthy behaviors, we can use Christian Counseling practices to help you break the patterns of addiction and find alternate coping strategies.
Trauma Support
Many times we are battling a history of trauma that has never been appropriately addressed, which manifests in our behaviors and decisions. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques and spiritual discernment to help others to get to the root of their trauma, address unhealed issues, and unlearn negative behaviors.
Spiritual Healing
As we focus on our natural healing, we can also help to achieve holistic wellness by focusing on spiritual healing. We can strengthen our relationship with God and tap into our God-given purpose. We will help you to unlock untapped potential and enhance your spiritual experience.
